SEED organised a workshop on menstruation taboos, myths andhygienic management in Parbatipur village of Basanti Block, Sundarban.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Madhumita Dobe,Ex-Professor, Director All India Institute of Public Health and Hygiene, Govt.of India and Dr. Prodyut Kumar Sur, Ex-Sr. Gynaecologist, Dept. of Health,Govt. of West Bengal.

The participants included local Panchayat members, localwomen, students, ASHA workers and ICDS workers.

The workshop included an animated video presentation on physiologyof menstruation, taboos, myths and how to maintain proper hygiene as well asproper disposal of used sanitary pads. The participants were  given free sanitary pads of good quality topromote use of sanitary pads.
